Best outdoor activities in Sydney

Everyday already knows how Sydney is the best place in Australia to party. But what about for those days when you don’t feel like nursing a hangover, and would rather get out and about in nature instead?

The following are just some of the activities that can be enjoyed on a clear Sydney day.


Surfing lesson Maroubra

Let’s Go Surfing School offers private lessons and group lessons for up to six people, taught by local and international coaches.  In your lesson you’ll cover all the basics: from warm-up, to paddling, to catching waves and standing.  Lessons are $55 for two hours and are based around the tides so the lessons are scheduled at different times each day.


Windsurfing Balmoral

You can spend a whole day learning to windsurf at The Balmoral Sailing School and as this beach is a sheltered bay and is one of the easiest places to learn to this exhilarating water sport. They hold workshops, group lessons and private tuition and to book, you need to do is call on the day to make sure wind conditions are right. They also have equipment hire available, including wetsuits.




Monster Skate Park, Sydney Olympic Park

They don’t call it Monster for nothing, this thing is huge!


It’s the only park in Australia to have an indoor street course, an outdoor section and a skate shop. The park caters for skateboards, BMX and scooters and they have music pumping through the speakers the whole time. They hold holiday courses and have sessions and programs throughout the year that accommodates all levels.

Bondi to Bronte cliff walk

This beautiful 6 kilometre walk along the world famous coastline is great for sightseeing, people watching and celeb spotting. On a sunny Sydney day you can get some exercise and then jump in the crystal clear water at Bronte beach and then work on your tan, all in one afternoon.


Kayaking Manly

Right next to the Many Wharf Hotel is a pier full of red, orange and yellow kayaks just waiting to be launched into the harbour. Manly Kayak Centre offers awesome services like beach picnics (where you paddle off to a secluded patch of beach and have a lunch on the sand) as well as kayak yoga and kayak fitness classes.
