One of my favourite places in Brisbane, and one of the trendiest in the city, would have to be Winn Lane.
Located down a quiet little lane off Anne Street in Fortitude Valley, Winn Lane has everything needed for a chic and completely unique Brisbane shopping adventure. From clothes and accessories to books, florists to music stores and cafés to hairdressers, there is never a dull moment in the vibrant community that inhabits Winn Lane.
Both men’s and women’s boutiques are located down the lane. For the guys, the outpost has everything you’ll need to get suited up for a day out and about. If you’ve already got your outfit sorted, as well as your hat and backpack, then don’t pass up and opportunity to have a geez around the store, they have a large collection of magazines and zines worth a look.
The girls, as usual, are spoilt for choice. See Bailey Nelson for your optical needs,Sunday Social for your vintage threads, and House of Cards for your on trend fashion.
When those hunger pangs strike Flamingo Cafe and Bar is there to help. The food tastes heavenly and if you’re going it alone the quirky decor is there to keep you amused. If art’s not your thing and you’re after something to read during your meal then pop in to Atavist Books, an independent second hand store, for a new and unique papery treasure.
If nothing I’ve mentioned appeals, then I have one final offering to try and win you over and make you love Winn Lane as much as I do. Tyms Guitar and Recording Studios stock a wide variety of second hand and handmade guitars and accessories to make any musician’s eyes glow.
Whether you go for just the food or for the whole Winn Lane experience combined, it’s a unique Brisbane treasure not to be missed.
