The best markets on the Gold Coast

The Village Markets. A fashion event where you can spot some of the Gold Coasts hottest models with a vintage twist, handcrafted goods, unique threads and delectable home-baked treats sounds too good to be true. However, on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month, the Gold Coast’s most talented, emerging fashion designers flavour the freshly trimmed pastures of the Burleigh State School Oval with their quirky stalls, proving to our dubious selves that such an event does exist after all.  We’re then taken to the last Sunday of the month, where the Paradise Point park lands lure thousands of keen market-goers through the gates and into the same buzzing atmosphere of the event that has been named the hub of Gold Coast’s culture and fashion, The Village Markets. So whether you’re after some summer crochet and a beaded wallet, a unique gift or an outfit you won’t see anyone else in, head to TVM. Nevertheless, if you just want to take in the blend of aromas wafting from the sausage sizzle, soap

The Surfers Paradise Night Markets.  No holiday is complete without that one-off gadget making its way back home in your suitcase, and nothing leaves a smile on your face like receiving endless compliments on that unique jewellery piece you bought at that exclusive venue you visited. But regardless whether you’re on the search for something special or you’re merely out to enjoy an after-dinner stroll, some live entertainment and the budget-friendly finds that come with being an (almost) empty wallet treasure hunter, the Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets are a great evening out. This fantastic, all-age event has slotted a convenient time of 4-9pm on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday nights, when the air is a little crisper. Watch the day’s escapades masked by a beautiful sunset fade into the festivity of the night.

Carrara Markets.  30 years on and the once petite arrangement of a few knick-knacky stalls has evolved to the pinnacle of indoor and outdoor shopping. Spanning a massive 10 acres, it is no wonder why this venue based in the heart of the coast has earned the title of Queensland’s biggest and best permanent market. We all want a bite of the town’s most talked about brekky, and we’d be lying if we said that King Tutt’s Putt Putt and bungee trampolines didn’t immediately give us a surge of excitement. A huge fresh produce market will keep mum happy too while you can meander in over a hundred fashion outlets. And with a tourist bus service running to and from the markets daily, there is no excuse not to visit.
